Mapal Green Energy, an Israeli wastewater treatment technology developer, has developed a unique financial incentive for using its floating fine-bubble diffusers whereby Mapal installs its technology at no cost to the client, and shares the profits from electricity-bill savings with the company.
With a few exceptions, Israeli municipalities still filter their water through an energy-intensive method called “surface aeration.” As building newer, more efficient structures is costly and difficult, Mapal launched a new fine-bubble system that can be used in all different types of locations, as it floats about 15 to 20 centimeters above the floor.
So far, Ramat HaSharon is the first city to implement this technology in its municipal wastewater plant.
