SOLEL-SIEMENS TO HIRE 300 EMPLOYEES IN ISRAEL

Siemens, Europe's biggest engineering conglomerate, plans to hire an additional 300 employees, mostly with an engineering background, for its thermo-solar energy division over the next two years. The company currently employs 400 workers in Israel, and an additional 100 related to the same division in Europe.

Though the workers will be hired in Israel, part of them will be instrumental in the development of projects in South Africa, Italy, and Spain. Siemens' renewable energy division in Israel is largely based on Solel, which it acquired in 2009 for $418 million.
