WORLD'S 2ND LARGEST DESALINATION PLANT IN SOREK GETS APPROVAL

The new plant to be built in the Sorek industrial area, south of Tel Aviv, will produce 150 million cubic meters a year, making it the world's second largest desalination plant of its kind. Upon its completion in 2013, the plant is expected to supply 20% of Israel's household consumption of water at a price of 2 shekels a cubic meter, representing an important savings for the Israeli water industry.
